Modern Nights

The trend that I'm currently working on at Topshop is called Modern Nights. This look is all about the touch and texture, mixing black patent leathers with transparent sheers. It's very clean and slick with a dash of sport luxe running through out. The colour palette is simple; mainly blacks, whites and greys with a pop of bright colour every so often. Below are some outfits I pulled together from the trend.

For SS13 monochrome is a massive look. They're my favourite colours, so of course I have to do a post on it. All of my favourite designers are rocking this look on the runway, from Céline to Maison Martin Margiela to Alexander Wang to Marc Jacobs. I absolutely love the Alexander Wang collection, especially the use of leather panelling and futuristic cut out shapes used. I think leather panelling is going to be massive all year round, wouldn't it be amazing if they invited leather nail acrylics? These fabulous shoes are all from Zara and would finish any monochrome look off perfectly. All are £39.00 each. Bargain

Celebrities currently rocking the monochrome look are Kim Kardashian, Kristen Stewart, Jennifer Lawrence, Jessica Alba, Michelle Williams, January Jones, Kourtney Kardashian and Beyonce

I think the reason why the monochrome look is so successful each year is because it's simply timeless. There are so many ways in which the look can be worn, any one of any age can pull it off and it's so easy to accessorize. Will you be wearing doing monochrome this season?

New Purchases

Before I went on holiday it was uniform time at work -a massive perk of working at Topshop and so I bought these beauties. Now, usually I'm not a massive pattern or colour person but seeing as though it's Summer I thought I'd branch out a bit. My favourite piece is definitely Boutique floral silk shirt, I'm in love with the cute Grandad collar. Unfortunately the purple floral jumpsuit has now gone into sale, going for half the price I bought it for. So annoying when that happens! I would model my purchases but unfortunately I don't have the face or the body to be in front of the camera. Maybe one day I'll grow a set and try on my purchases for my blog...
